Camp Onomia is an outdoor ministry of Lutheran congregations and exists to provide spiritual renewal for all ages through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Founded in 1949, Onomia has provided outdoor ministry opportunities for more than fifty years. All of the programs of Camp Onomia are guided by the Conviction that we have been blessed by God’s mercy to be a blessing to others.
Camp Onomia also offers summer family camps and a wide variety of weekend retreats throughout the year. The Vogel Retreat Center provides a year-round setting for retreat groups of all sizes and is welcoming to groups of all ages. The 230 acres owned by the camp are surrounded by 10,000 acres of wilderness and lakes. Onomia is located on Shakopee Lake near Onamia, Minnesota and Mille Lacs Kathio State Park, only 85 miles north of the Twin Cities and 30 miles east of Little Falls.
