Epiphany Choir (Grades K - 2)

Wednesdays, 6:15 - 7pm, Room H 

Director: Tom Getchius 

Goals:
a) To review and understand texts from songs/hymns
b) To understand and follow basic conducting gestures
c) To develop accurate singing skills with good breath support, good posture and pitch matching
d) To develop their vocal range: from middle c to e’ or f’ (above treble c’)
e) To introduce reading melody lines of music on the staff and following basic music symbols, such as dynamic signs, repeats signs, etc.
f) To develop the ability to sing a melody with a different accompaniment

Program will include:
a) Variety of musical “styles” including  unison and 2-pt. canon songs
b) Movement activities such as warm-ups, actions, clapping, sign language
c) The use of rhythm instruments when appropriate
d) Exposure to multiple voices or instruments while singing (i.e. singing with other choirs, organ, flute, guitar, etc.)
e) One or more choir “outings” per year
