Sunday School at Immanuel is called God's Garden - it is a place where children come to grow spiritually!
Sunday School is offered each Sunday, September - May at 2 different hours:
9:30am - 10:30am, and
11:00am - 12:00 noon
3 years - Kindergarten
Children learn Bible stories and truths in an experiential setting using Group's Hands on Bible Curriculum. Sunday School is REAL: relational, experiential, applicable and learner based, so that kids can grow to know Jesus!
1st - 4th Graders Enjoy the Workshop Rotation Model
1st-4th grade students concentrate on one story from the Bible over a three week period. The story is explored each week from a different angle. Students participate in a different workshop each week, actively experiencing Bible truths through a variety of learning styles. Workshops are active, creative, and because kids are enjoying themselves, they say it is fun!
By the end of three weeks your child may have experienced life in Bible times through making flatbread, visiting a marketplace, playing Bible times games, and exploring maps and diagrams on the computer. Children learn and retain much more of what they are taught when they learn through doing.
Workshop Leaders teach the same workshop for three consecutive weeks. This allows volunteers to become experts in one area and helps cut down on preparation time. They can also choose a workshop that is of interest to them, so it is fun for the leader and for the learner!
5th and 6th grade students meet together with the same caring adults each week. The focus for this age group is building relationships and encouraging learners to grow in a deeper relationship with Jesus.
